Quimi Romar, a Spanish company dedicated to developing, manufacturing and distributing household and personal care, fragrance and cosmetic products, is adding to renewable energy by installing solar panels at its Valencia plant.
Two years ago, Quimi Romar began considering the possibility of using photovoltaic energy, a decision that culminated in the recent installation of solar panels, which is already having an effect on the energy bill. As well as the significant annual savings, this type of action reduces CO2 emissions, thus creating an added value that contributes to improving the environment.
This decision is in line with the growing use of this type of energy around the world, a boom that could lead to a 50% increase in capacity over the coming years, according to the International Energy Agency (IEA).
Another initiative carried out by this Valencian company is the Lean Manufacturing management model, a system that has been working for years to minimise losses in manufacturing systems while maximising value creation for the end client. The increased efficiency in each phase of the process contributes to reducing consumption and preventing the waste of materials and energy, thus also helping to protect and sustain the environment.
At Quimi Romar, and throughout the Romar Global Care group in general, one of the key points for the coming years will be continuing to improve its cost competitiveness while increasing its commitment to sustainability. With the solar panel system already at full capacity and the Lean Manufacturing management model in place, the group is taking another important step in this direction.
Quimi Romar is a Spanish company dedicated to developing, manufacturing and distributing household and personal care, fragrance and cosmetic products, with over 50 years’ experience in the industry. It has recently become part of the new ROMAR GLOBAL CARE business group, formed of different companies in its field such as Envasados Xiomara and Aerosoles Preval. Thus, the group has 400 employees and a turnover exceeding 85 million Euros, as well as producing over 150 million units each year.
